There are tons and tons of products in the market that promise to tame down frizz but even applying the right kind of product doesn’t help you to 100%deal with the problem. After taming the imperfections, the obvious question that arises is how to style the tresses so that the frizz doesn’t show up for at least 6-8 hours?

In this article, we have talked about and explained some of the best hairstyles that you can try on a daily basis in order to control frizz and yet boost up your styling game.

So without further delay, let’s start.

Messy Fishtail Braid

Want to hide hair imperfections (frizziness, flyaways, static) and still look effortless and feminine? Then the messy fishtail braid is just the right hairstyle for you.

This ultra-romantic and sexy hairdo would not only lift your outlook and inner confidence but at the same time would also help you to hide your hair imperfections effortlessly.

To start with, spritz on a lot of texturizing sprays all over your hair to give it some texture and definition. We prefer the Kenra Platinum Dry Texture Spray #6. Then with a fine teeth comb, tease the tresses of your crown until you get the required volume. Now rake all your manes back and tie them down with a rubber band into a ponytail. Then divide your hairs into two equal parts and construct a fishtail braid and then secure it with another rubber band. After that, cut off the first band to give your braid a messy yet youthful and vibrant look.

Long, Loose Curls

If you have long manes and you want to flaunt them but shying away because of frizz and other hair issues, then this long, loose curly style is just the right one for you. With the right technique, this hairdo will make the top layer of your hair look smooth and at the same time give you the confidence to display your long tresses.

Long, Loose Curls

Prepare your manes by applying a whole lot of volumizing mousse like the Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Mousse and then blow them using an ionic blow dryer (we prefer the INFINITI PRO BY CONAIR 1875 Watt Salon Performance AC Motor Styling Tool/Hair Dryer). Now separate your hairs into several sections and using a medium barrel curling iron, curl each part so that all your hairs have beautiful curls in them. After you are done curling, run your fingers through the tresses for a more loose curl effect and finish off by spraying some holding spray.

Carrie Bradshaw Curls

Who doesn’t want to look like the iconic character Carrie Bradshaw from the hit series “Sex and the City”?

Well, you can also adorn your tresses with this iconic bouncy and voluminous hairstyle even when there are frizz and flyaways in your hairs.

Carrie Bradshaw Curls

For this curly style, first, apply a leave-in conditioner like this Shea Moisture Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner in your clean damped hair to eliminate frizz. Then dry them with a hair dryer with diffuser attachment while scrunching your tresses as you go. Once your tresses are fully dried, with a wide barrel curling iron (you might use this HOT TOOLS Professional 24k Gold Extra-Long Barrel Curling Iron) create a few random curls in your manes for a more defined yet very sexy outlook.

The Voluminous, Messy Top Pony

One of the easiest ways to style your frizzy, imperfect hair locks whenever you are in a hurry is by tying up a voluminous top not. This hairdo not only helps you to embrace those flaws but at the same time also lifts up your look as well as confidence level by several notches.

The Voluminous, Messy Top Pony

To create this messy hairdo, apply some Voluminizing mouse all over your wet hair and fry them out with an ionic blow dryer. Now with a fine teeth comb, slightly tease all your hairs to create some volume and body in them. After that, gather all your hairs on the crown of your head and tie them up in a ponytail using a rubber band. Now take a small portion of the hair strand and wrap it around the pony to hide the band.

End the styling session by spraying some finishing spray for better hold and a polished outlook.

Front Pouf Ponytail

Be it at the office or an evening party, the front pouf ponytail would never let you down. This celebrity-approved hairdo hides your frizz and flyaways successfully while providing you a modern hairstyle that you can rock anywhere and everywhere.

Front Pouf Ponytail

First, spray on some texturizing spray to your clean, dry hairs and then with fine teeth teasing comb, tease the tresses of your temple and form a voluminous pouf. Now with the same comb, smoothen the upper layer of the teased hairs and then secure it with a few bobby pins to form a smooth pouf.

Once the pouf is done, with the same fine comb, gather all your tresses back and construct a high ponytail and then spray on some hard holding spray for a long day secure do.

We suggest you opt for the L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Hairspray for superior yet lightweight hold.

Dutch Braided Bun

Has got a fancy evening event but worried about how to style your tresses to hide their imperfections yet still look classy and chic? Then you must try this Dutch braided bun because these two braid bun would help you to tie down all your hairs and also give you a very sophisticated look.

Dutch Braided Bun

For this classic hairstyle, first, apply a handful of mousse to your clean manes to add a bit of texture and volume to them. You might try out this Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Sculpting Foam for the texturizing purpose. Then comb thoroughly and section off your tresses into two equal parts, one on each side of your face.

Now from the left side, take a 2-inch portion of your hair and start constructing a Dutch braid from near the temple and when done secure the braid with an elastic band.

Do the same in the right side and when there are two equal braids, roll one braid in the middle of the nape (a bit above the nape) and secure it with more than a few bobby pins for a stronghold. Now wrap the second braid around the bun and when done also add bobby pins to secure it with the bun.

Then finish off your style with a strong hold spray so that they do not move out of place for a long time.

Textured Wavy Bob

If you have short hair and you cannot style them with braids, buns or even a ponytail, then this wavy bob with enough texture and body is just the right hairdo for you on any given day.

First, spritz on some Voluminizing spray on wet, clean manes and let it air dry or blow dry (if you are in a hurry).

Textured Wavy Bob

Then take random sections of your hairs and create waves in them using medium sized heated rollers. We prefer the Conair Xtreme Instant Heat Jumbo and Super Jumbo Hot Rollers to create waves in frizzy hair. Once you take off the rollers and have enough waves, run your fingers through the manes for a more natural look and then apply some finishing spray for a strong yet lightweight hold.

Messy, Curly Chignon Bun

Are you bored of styling your frizzy hairs in a bun every day? Wanting to try a new style that would also hide the frizziness and make your hairs look perfect? Then the curly chignon bun is your savior.

This messy and simple bun is a twist of the classic low bun and can be achieved very easily.

Messy, Curly Chignon Bun

Start off by applying a primer like the John Frieda Frizz Ease Beyond Smooth Frizz-Immunity Primer to wet hairs to tame down the frizz and provide a smooth base for the styling. Now dry them using a hair dryer with a diffuser attachment.

Once your tresses are fully dried, using a narrow barrel curling iron, create small curls and ringlets in your manes to look them more voluminous and defined. Now gather all your curled hairs in the nape of your neck and twist them all to create a rough, messy low bun and secure it with hair pins for long-lasting hold.

  3. Hi,

You said that the Carrie Bradshaw Curls are for frizz-prone hair. You are completely wrong. Even though I don’t have frizzy hair, I tried it on my tresses because I am a big fan of “Sex and the City”. These curls ruined my hair. Not only these tiny curls made my hair frizzy but it now looks unflattering. Think twice before uploading something.

    1. Dear Bertha,

We are sorry to hear about your situation. We are sure that your tresses were not completely prepared before you tried this hairdo and hence, this happened.

Please, prepare it as we have mentioned and let us know the results.
