We understand your frustrations over having frizz and flyaways in your gorgeous hairs.

In this article, we have discussed the mistakes that you have been making in your hair care routine on regular basis that causes your tresses to dry out and become unhealthy, and also tried to find the best solutions to avoid these mistakes.
Contents
1. Washing Your Hair Every day
Washing your delicate tresses on daily basis not only cleans the debris out of your scalp but at the same time also stripes of the natural oils and nourishment of from the tresses making your hair dry and brittle. And it’s a common knowledge that dry hair becomes frizzy very quickly making your hair’s appearance unpleasant.
How to Avoid
If possible wash your tresses with a sulfate-free shampoo like this OGX Hydrating Macadamia Oil Shampoo Sulfate Free Surfactants Shampoo twice a week or less. If it’s extremely necessary to wash your manes more than twice a week you can use a dry shampoo that would remove the greasiness of your scalp and hair strand but won’t strip off the moisture. We recommend the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo for the in-between hair cleaning.
2. Not Conditioning (or Deep Conditioning) Your Tresses Enough
Even though you wash your hairs fewer times every week, your tresses still lose moisture and nourishment and therefore, become dry and brittles. And it’s a common knowledge that dry hair becomes frizzy fast making your precious manes unhealthy and unflattering.
How to Avoid
We recommend that after every hair washes, you condition your hairs; especially from the middle to the roots so that they can restore some of the moisture that has been lost during the washing process and appears more nourished and healthy. You can use the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner with Coconut Essences as it provides gentle conditioning for total hydration.
Furthermore, doesn’t matter how well you take care of your hairs, to keep frizz, static and flyaways at arm’s length, deep conditioning your tresses once a week is must. The L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Rapid Reviver Deep Conditioner ensures 2x nourishment for shinier and healthier locks.
3. Skipping the Oil Care Routine
Even after conditioning and deep conditioning, your hair feels frizzy and unappealing, that’s because you might have escaped applying oil on your tresses on a regular basis.
Our surrounding, the environment, and the weather seem to strip off moisture from the gentle tresses which makes them dry and prone to frizz and breakage.
How to Avoid
Try to enjoy a hot oil massage at least twice a week to not only avoid unflattering frizzy manes but at the same time promote hair growth and shiny hairs.
The oil you apply on your hair, it penetrates deep into the hair cuticle to restore the moisture and nourishment and help to fully hydrate them, which is extremely important for healthy tresses.
We prefer the Moroccanoil Treatment Argan Oil for weekly oil massage.
4. Drying Your Tresses Using Towel
It’s very normal for people to rub the hair vigorously with a towel after the shower to soak up the excess water from the scalp and hairs for a faster drying process.
What they don’t realize is that, aside from soaking water, they are making the hair cuticle roughen up which eventually leads to frizz and static in the tresses.
How to Avoid
The best way to soak that excess water from your tresses is to gently press a microfiber towel like the DuraComfort Essentials Super Absorbent Anti-Frizz Microfiber Hair Towel and squeeze out that excess water from your tresses; after your manes are partially dry, try air drying them for a healthier outlook.
5. Applying the Wrong Products
It’s a very common practice of most of us to use anything and everything we like on our manes despite the fact that the particular product might not be at all suitable for our hair. This using of wrong products not only hurts our tresses but also makes them super dry, frizzy and extremely prone to breakage and damage.
How to Avoid
Know your hair type. If it’s hard for you individually, consult a hair expert to find out the type of manes you have and then buy shampoo, conditioners and other hair care products accordingly to keep damage and frizz, flyaways at the bay.
6. Using the Wrong Styling Tools
Once again, we, almost all the time never care to buy the right styling tool suitable for our hair type; also, most of the time we are careless about using the right temperature settings to style the delicate tresses which cause immense damage to the hairs. Moreover, the unjust heat of the styling tool can strip away the moisture and nourishment making your hair dry and extremely frizzy.
How to Avoid
Use a ceramic or ceramic tourmaline constructed styling tool on your hair that comes with multiple temperature setting; we are suggesting ceramic and ceramic tourmaline because these materials are suitable for all types of hair and can also keep the heat of the tool bearable which won’t damage or harm your tresses. 7. Sleeping on Cotton Pillow Case
You might not realize, but sleeping on a cotton pillowcase results in extreme frizz in your hairs; when you are tossing and turning on your pillowcase while sleeping, the cotton material absorbs the natural oils and moisture from your hairs to make them dry, brittle and frizzy. Moreover, your tresses cause severe friction with the cotton pillow resulting in further frizz in your manes.
How to Avoid
Hair experts always suggest that you sleep on a silk pillow because the soft, silk material allows your hair to slide and glide throughout your pillow effortlessly causing to friction or draining away nourishments.
Or if you don’t want to switch your pillowcase, just wrap your hairs with a silk scarf before going to bed to enjoy the same benefit as silk pillows.
8. Brushing Hair More Frequently
Over-brushing your tresses can make the super frizzy; that’s because frequent brushing disrupts the hair cuticle (the outer layer of the hair strands) and cause severe friction with the tresses that result in extreme frizz and damage in your manes.
How to Avoid
Hair experts always recommend brushing your tresses when they are wet because dry hair causes more friction than wet hair.
But as the roots of wet tresses are delicate and prone to hair fall, you should use a soft bristle hair brush like this Moroccanoil Ceramic Round Brush to comb through your wet hair and keep frizz and static at the bay.
9. Over Doing Chemical Treatments
Chemical treatments like hair coloring, permanent, semi-permanent straightening, rebounding, relaxing and perming are not as harmless as you might have thought; these procedures harm your delicate tresses badly and make them frizzy, extremely prone to damage and unhealthy.
How to Avoid
According to hair experts, it’s always better to not undergo chemical treatments, but then again, if you wish to adorn your tresses with a different style or color, you can perform the procedure not more than twice a year to avoid any type of damage, breakage, and frizziness.
