How to Use Hair Setters for Volume

There are several ways to get voluminous hair. One safest way is to use heated hair rollers. Aside from using a great set of heated rollers, the volume and bounce you want to create in your flat hairs also depend on the way you put the rollers in your tresses. And therefore, the process of putting in the rollers is also super important.

But before discussing the steps of placing the rollers in hairs correctly, let’s first talk about how to prepare your hairs so that your tresses can enjoy maximum body and bounce but refrains from suffering any heat burns and damage.

The Preparation Stage: Start your ritual by washing your fine hairs with a Voluminizing shampoo to not only clean your scalp and hairs but to also add some extra oomph to your tresses. The Kerastase Resistance Bain Volumifique Thickening Effect Shampoo might be an excellent choice to clean your hairs from within.

You can also use the Kerastase Volumifique Thickening Effect Volumizing Gel Treatment to condition your tresses for a more healthy and silky appearance.

But if you are not comfortable washing your hairs every time you want to style them with a voluminous look, a dry shampoo like this TRESemmé Volumizing Dry Shampoo would be a great choice for you to clean your hairs without washing them.

Once you are done with washing and conditioning your hairs, dry them upside down properly either by using a blow dryer or air dry.

When your hairs are completely dried out, comb your hairs with a big brush and apply some heat protectant to shield your delicate strands from the heat that you are about to apply. The Kenra Thermal Styling Spray #19 is an excellent hair care product that will provide thermal protection without weighing down your manes.

Now that you are done preparing your hairs, let’s move on to the actual procedure of adding body and bounce to your fine hairs using hot rollers:

Step 1

Section off your hairs according to the number of heated rollers you have. Use hair clips to hold sections separately.

Step 2

Take one section and apply some Voluminizing spray at the roots before wrapping the roller; this will add some volume to the hair roots for a more consistent look. You can use the Kenra Volume Spray #25 for extra volume and strong hold.

Step 3

Now take a properly heated roller and roll it away from your face. The rollers should be placed horizontally all over the head except the sides of your head.

The horizontally placed rollers rolled away from your face will ensure some serious volume right on top of your head.

For the side hairs, roll the rollers vertically to have more volume than you could have achieved from horizontally wrapped rollers.

Also, remember to put in the larger rollers of the set at the crown and in the front portion of your tresses for a more fuller and voluminous look.

Additionally, try to put the rollers as close as possible to enjoy the maximum hair lifting.

Step 4

Let the rollers sit on your hair for at least 15-20 minutes before you start unwrapping them.

Step 5

After removing all the rollers from your hairs, you will be astonished by the amount of bounce and movement in your hairs.

At this point, fluff your tresses with your finger to get more volume in the hairs and then set the look with a setting spray so that your voluminous style lasts for hours to come.
